How much paint do I need?
There are many factors which will determine how much paint you will shoot. Your playing style, how much you engage your opponent, what fields we play, etc. I have found that structured fields such as the castles usually demand more paint. If you are constantly engaging your opponent and trading fire, then you will use more paint. I use anywhere between 500 up to over 1000 per day. My suggestion would be to split a case of paint between 2-3 people. A case of paint consists of 2000 rounds. You can always keep your leftover paint for the next trip to Skirmish.

Is paintball safe?
Paintball is very safe as long as you follow the rules. You only risk serious injury if the paintball hits you in the face. Fortunately, you will be required to play with full face protection. Please refer to the Safety section for more details. Here is also a very good article regarding paintball safety. http://paintball.about.com/cs/safetyinfo/a/injuryqs.htm

Can I bring my own paint?
Skirmish is a field paint only, which means you can only use paint that they sell. All their paint has "Skirmish" printed on the actual paintball so do not bring your own paint for any reason. They will check.

How much money should I bring?
It really depends on what you plan on spending it on. Just don't forget, its a long drive so chip in for gas and tolls and make it up to the driver. How you do that is up to you.

How far is Skirmish?
I live in Queens and it is approximately 135 miles from my house. It takes about 2 to 2.5 hours from my house, without any stops. If you need to pick up people, you should expect to leave earlier.

Can I bring my own equipment?
Absolutely! But Skirmish does not discount the price if you bring your own gear.

Does it hurt?
I'm not going to lie to you and say it doesn't. It hurts, depending on where you're hit. If you wear enough clothing and protection (ie. gloves and hat), it takes the sting out substantially. For me, it hurts only at the moment I'm hit. The bruise doesn't hurt and will disappear after a few days.

How do I store paint?
Store leftover paint in a cool, dry place or in an airtight container. If they are still sealed in the plastic bags, they are fine. Make sure there is no moisture on the paint. If you have any paint on the outside of the shells, this will cause the paintballs to swell over time and ruin your paint. You can wipe down the paintballs with a towel to remove excess moisture.

Paintballs will also develop dimples over time as a result of the pressure from other paintballs. To prevent this, you need to rotate your paintballs about once a week. This will essentially change the placement of the weight and prevent constant pressure on one spot.
